Google

UX Engineer (temporary staff)

I joined Google as a temporary staff member and participated in three projects. I worked on Scratch, internal education tooling, and a VS Code extension.

First, I worked on the CS First project to develop prototypes for UX research. CS First is a free program created by Google to teach computer science to elementary and middle school students. It uses Scratch under the hood, a block-based visual programming language.

The prototypes aimed to integrate an instruction panel to Scratch that guides through a lesson. They also included modifying Scratch to highlight the features mentioned in the instruction and detect whether the students completed a task.

After the project’s success, I joined a team and dived deep into Google-specific technologies. I also worked on a VS Code extension and updated some tooling documentation.

I started the Berlin pushup group.

LEO Innovation Lab

LEO Innovation Lab

Founding Engineer of Studies&Me

LEO Innovation Lab was a digital healthcare innovation unit established by LEO Pharma. It included several independent projects.

I joined as a founding engineer of the Studies&Me project. Studies&Me aims to revolutionize clinical research by leveraging digital technology and patient-centric approaches to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical trials.

Responsibilities quickly evolved to a system of multiple sites serving four different personas. I was responsible for the client-facing recruitment tool, where people could sign up for clinical trials; an internal evaluation tool, where in-house doctors could assess the patients; an administration tool, where we could track and funnel the recruitment progress; and a scheduling tool, where third-party doctors all around the world could find the contact information of the assigned patients.

Due to the small team and flexible setup, I also designed the appearance and behavior of most features.
